In 14th place - Bob Chaputian, 14.05, Duffy's 15th - Angela Braun, 14.03, Captain's Cove 16th - Boris Sokolohorsky, 14.02, Rudy's Tackle Barn 17th - Mike Cacaro, 14.02, Harbour B&T 18th - Joseph Pasick, 13.90, Stratford B&T 19th - Paul Ziobo, 13.88, Sportsman's Den and 20th - Mike Smith, 13.80, Stratford B&T.Īdditionally there was a Port Prize of $200 awarded to the heaviest non-winning fish caught at each official weigh station. In 6th place was Corey Anderson, 15.10, Captain Morgan's 7th - Anthony Romeo, 15.02, East Coast Fishing 8th - James Salvato, 14.80, Fisherman's Paradise 9th - Frank Gilroy, 14.38, River's End 10th - Graham Lapham, 14.19, Stratford B&T 11th - Carly Gargano, 14.15, Fisherman's Paradise 12th - Walter Pietrowski, 14.14, Rivers End and 13th - Anastasio Makropolous, 14.13, East Coast Fishing. And in fifth place was William Quinton with a 15.75-pound blue weighed in at Jack's on City Island NY. In fourth place was Danny Bocchino with a 16.13-pound blue weighed in at Captain's Cove in Bridgeport. He weighed in a 16.92-pound blue at East Coast Fishing in Little Neck NY. He weighed in a 17.14-pound chopper at Jack's Bait and Tackle in the Bronx. He did say that this was the biggest thing he has ever won in his life. I called the winner on Monday morning and while he was pleased with the win he contained his enthusiasm. Peturica calmly accepted the news and left to visit his daughter leaving the crew at Sportsman's Den scratching their heads. They weighed the fish on a certified scale and told Peturica that unless another fish weighing more than his fish was entered within the next half hour or so he was the winner of the $25,000 top prize. Sportsman's Den is an official weigh-in station and the folks there knew that the current leading weight was 17.14 pounds. Not realizing that he had the winning fish, he casually entered Sportsman's Den to have it weighed. On Sunday afternoon, Peturcia came to Greenwich to visit his daughter, Tina Onieall, and her family. He put the fish in a cooler where it stayed from more than 24 hours. Peturica caught the fish Saturday morning while fishing from shore at Little Neck Bay. ![]()
